Clear answers before you get started
Who do you support?
Connected Minds supports parents and carers of children and young people with SEND, including families whose child is diagnosed, awaiting assessment or showing strong neurodivergent traits.
Do you provide legal advice?
No. Connected Minds provides independent advocacy, practical information and support but is not a legal service. Where legal advice is needed, you may be signposted to an appropriate organisation.
Can you represent me at SEND Tribunal?
No. Connected Minds does not represent clients at SEND Tribunal or prepare expert witness reports.
Can you attend school meetings?
Meeting preparation and attendance may be available where agreed in advance. Relevant documents should normally be supplied at least five working days before a meeting or deadline.
Can you guarantee an EHCP or another outcome?
No advocate can control decisions made by schools, local authorities, NHS organisations, tribunals or benefit agencies. Connected Minds provides support with reasonable care and professional judgement but cannot guarantee an outcome.
Do you offer online support?
Yes. Support may be provided by email, telephone or video call, as well as in person where agreed.
What are your working hours?
Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. The usual aim is to respond within 48 working hours. Connected Minds is not an emergency service.
How is my information protected?
Information is handled confidentially in accordance with the privacy notice and data-protection policies. Client records are normally kept for two years after case closure, with financial records kept for six years for HMRC purposes.
What should I send with my first enquiry?
Start with a brief outline of the support you need and any important deadline. Please do not email detailed medical records, EHCPs or other sensitive documents until secure arrangements and the scope of support have been agreed.
